I’ve tried a lot of different jewelry cleaners. I’ve bought them in Jewelry stores, supermarkets and even online. They all seem the same, except when I tried Tarn-X Jewelry Cleaner at a recent Blogher event in Chicago.
I went to the booth and had the PR folks clean my rings. I was very impressed. But I couldn’t believe it. Could it be that the spotlights that made the rings look so shiny? So I requested a sample at home.
Tarn-X Jewelry Cleaner comes in a round container. It’s specifically for gold, silver, platinum and gems. You place the smaller jewelry in a little basket that is enclosed in the jewelry cleaner. For bigger items, you just place in the solution without the basket. You close the lid and rotate the solution for 30 seconds. After about 60 seconds of soaking, you remove the jewelry and use the brush to take off those hard to clean areas. You rinse the jewelry in cold water and wipe dry.
Tarn-X Jewelry Cleaner is not to be used with antique or enameled jewelry, pearls, opal or other porous stones.
I opened up the jar and placed my rings in the basket. I did as instructed and when I took them out, they were spectacular. They were so shiny. They looked as if they were brand new. I started to go through all of my jewelry and see what else I could clean. I cleaned my gold, my silver and even my platinum. It was actually fun. I didn’t find it to be a chore at all. There’s nothing better than to wear jewelry as it looked the day you bought it.
I’m looking forward to trying other products by Tarn-X to see if they work as well as the Jewelry cleaner…
The retail price on Amazon is $13 a jar. I don’t believe you can buy this product in the retail stores but you can certainly find it online.
