MARCO Art Opening at Pop International Galleries in SoHo
This Saturday, October 15 from 7 pm – 9 pm, Pop International Galleries on the Bowery at Spring Street, will hold a private opening for MARCO artwork.
Put simply, Marco is a LIVING LEGEND in the world of Pop Art, and could be considered the Andy Warhol/Keith Haring of his generation, but unlike both of them, Marco was born and bred in New York City. Marco pioneered the Lower East Side when he opened up his first gallery/studio/boutique on Orchard Street in 1992. Before that in the late 1980’s, he was selling his art on the corner of Prince and Greene Streets in SoHo.
He’s collaborated with Marc Ecko and Swatch, and he has his own company in Japan. His art is collected by a long and ever-growing list of internationally known celebrities, and his MARCOART MOBILE ARTTRUCK is a New York City weekend neighborhood fixture on the streets of the Lower East Side, a few blocks from where he first made his mark selling his artwork on the streets.
Marco has exhibited his work all over the world, including Japan, Taiwan, Germany Switzerland, Spain, Dubai and The Philippines, as well as in several major galleries in New York, including Pop International Galleries. His large murals and paintings can be seen in the lobbies of high rise buildings in New York City and throughout the tri-state area, as well as in the lounges and lobbies of New York’s airports. Marco’s artworks are also shown at Toys “R” Us and in the UNICEF store at the United Nations in New York, among others. His collectors are comprised of artists, actors, singers, writers and filmmakers, presidents, CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies and countless people with whom his work, through its’ joy and pure simplicity, resonates profoundly.
In short Marco and his brand MARCOART, are a cultural force of LOVE, UNITY and WORLD PEACE, expressed in all media for all the nations of the world. His collectors love his bright colors and his subjects. His wit, humor and fun techniques always result in MARCO’s main goal when painting, which is to simply make people who look at his work, feel happy and full of joy.
Today, Marco continues that tradition with an international network of manufacturing and licensing deals that showcase MARCOART in a diverse array of products – from plush toys, to action figures, watches, clothing and of course – fine art.
Additionally, MARCO helps various charitable organizations and wholeheartedly participates in community development on many levels. While his goal remains for his art to be in found hanging in the homes and offices of everyone, as his success grows, he remains mindful of those less fortunate than he is, and he strives to continue to help those who need help wherever his art may take him.
